Can you skip Peacemaker (Season 2)?
No. It carries part of the main DC throughline, and what comes after it assumes you have seen it. The next essential title is Supergirl. In chronological order, reaching it takes about 41h 52m of essential viewing across 22 titles. See the full DC order.
Essential, and it performs the most awkward job in the DCU: carrying a character and a first season out of a cancelled continuity and into a new one. Watch the first season and the 2025 Superman first, in that order; this follows both and explains neither.
The bridge is handled through the premise rather than by ignoring the problem. Chris Smith finds a way into a parallel version of his own life in which the things that went wrong did not, and the season is about a man being offered the chance to live in a world where he was happy, and having to work out what is wrong with it. That is a much better use of a continuity reset than a line of dialogue would have been.
It is funnier and sadder than the first season in roughly equal measure. The supporting cast are given more room, the opening credits routine returns in a new form, and the material about his father continues to be the spine.
John Cena is still the best piece of casting in the franchise. The season connects outward to the wider DCU more than the first did, with appearances that matter later, so it is doing structural work as well as character work.
