Why not to start with the prequel
The King's Man is chronologically first. It is also tonally nothing like the two films it precedes: a fairly straight period war drama with real historical figures, occasional brutality, and almost none of the cartoon energy that made the first film work.
If you meet the franchise through it, you get a completely wrong impression of what Kingsman is. Watch it third, as background, once you already care about the agency.
The Secret Service is the one
A London street kid recruited into a private intelligence service that operates out of a Savile Row tailor. The church sequence — one continuous-looking take, set to Free Bird — is the scene everyone remembers, and it is genuinely a technical achievement.
The Golden Circle is bigger, forty minutes of which it does not need, and most people rate it a clear step down. It is still a direct sequel, so watch it second if you watch it at all.
What is coming
A third Eggsy film, Kingsman: The Blue Blood, has been announced and repeatedly delayed. As of August 2026 it has no release date and production has not been confirmed as underway.
It is listed on the Kingsman page without a date rather than with a guessed one.
