Can you skip Daredevil: Born Again (Season 2)?
No. It carries part of the main MCU throughline, and what comes after it assumes you have seen it. The next essential title is Captain America: Brave New World. In chronological order, reaching it takes about 57h 44m of essential viewing across 36 titles. See the full MCU order.
Essential within this thread, and it opens directly from the first season's last episode with a city under emergency powers. It is unreadable without that, and considerably better with the Netflix seasons behind it too.
The season benefits enormously from having been planned rather than rescued. The first season was reconstructed mid-production and shows it; this one is built as a single eight-episode arc about a city under an authoritarian mayor, with the law itself as the battleground, and it holds a consistent register throughout.
Krysten Ritter's return as Jessica Jones is the headline and the show uses her properly, as a private investigator with no interest in anybody's crusade who is dragged in anyway. Her scenes with Charlie Cox have the bickering quality the Defenders era never quite found room for.
Vincent D'Onofrio continues to be the reason this series exists. The violence is at the level the Netflix run established and one sequence in the middle of the season is the most sustained action Marvel has put on television. A third and final season follows.
