Can you skip Moon Knight?

Yes, on a first watch. It is self-contained, and nothing in the main MCU story depends on it. Come back to it later if you want more. In chronological order, reaching it takes about 46h 38m of essential viewing across 25 titles. Show only the MCU essentials.

Skippable, and it is the most self-contained thing in Phase Four. No other character appears, nothing else is referenced, and nothing since has required it. A viewer could start here knowing nothing about Marvel at all.

That isolation is its strength. The series is a psychological thriller about a mild London gift-shop worker who wakes up in other countries with no memory of travelling and ankle restraints he fitted himself, and the first two episodes withhold the explanation long enough to be genuinely unsettling.

Oscar Isaac is doing a great deal: two accents, two postures and two people who cannot occupy the same moment, and the mirror conversations are technically impressive. The fifth episode, set almost entirely in a psychiatric hospital that may or may not be an afterlife, is the best hour and the most daring thing in Marvel's television.

The Egyptian mythology around it is less interesting than the man, and the finale is two enormous digital figures fighting over a city, which is where almost all of these end. Ethan Hawke's cult leader is excellent and underused.
