Can you skip Loki (Season 2)?

No. It carries part of the main MCU throughline, and what comes after it assumes you have seen it. The next essential title is The Marvels. In chronological order, reaching it takes about 55h 59m of essential viewing across 32 titles. See the full MCU order.

Essential, and it is the direct continuation of the first season, opening mid-scene with no recap. It also happens to be the only Multiverse Saga storyline that reached a genuine conclusion, which makes it the most satisfying television Marvel has produced.

The season is largely a technical thriller: a machine is failing, a deadline is approaching, and most of the running time is people in a 1970s control room trying to repair something while arguing about whether they should. It is more interested in process than in spectacle, and the retro-futurist production design carries it.

The final episode is the best thing in Phase Five. Without describing it, the resolution requires the protagonist to choose an existence of permanent, thankless isolation in order to preserve everybody else, and it is played without a single joke. A character introduced in 2011 as a petulant younger brother ends his story in a place no one would have predicted, and Tom Hiddleston earns every second of it.

Ke Huy Quan is a welcome addition and Owen Wilson remains the series' anchor. Jonathan Majors appears in a different register from Quantumania and is better for it.
