Can you skip Marvel Zombies?
Yes, on a first watch. It is self-contained, and nothing in the main MCU story depends on it. Come back to it later if you want more. In chronological order, reaching it takes about 57h 44m of essential viewing across 34 titles. Show only the MCU essentials.
Skippable, and it sits outside the main timeline entirely: it is a spin-off of a What If...? episode, set in an alternate universe, and nothing in the films acknowledges it. Watching the zombie episode of What If...? first is useful and not required.
It is the most violent thing Marvel has released, carrying an adult certificate and using it: characters introduced across fifteen years of films are dismembered on screen, and several deaths are played for shock rather than for meaning. Whether that is liberating or merely unpleasant is the main thing people disagree about.
Four episodes at around half an hour, which is too short for the cast it carries. A dozen characters are introduced and most get a line and an exit, and the plot is a journey across a ruined America to a last stronghold. The animation is considerably better than the What If...? seasons.
The best material is the quietest: an episode largely about two survivors arguing over whether anybody is still inside the things chasing them. Three follow-up specials are planned, one per Halloween, which is an unusual way to continue a series.
